Verna villagers demand return of speed breakers

Their only demand was to re-erect speed breakers on this stretch of road which has become a death trap.

 2 youngsters had lost their lives on this road in two different incidents on Wednesday.

According to the agitated locals, accidents occur on this stretch of road on regular basis because of the rash and over speeding traffic on this road since the speed breakers which were present on this road were removed during the BRICS summit.

Hundreds of villagers along with local MLA Wilfred D’sa came on road on Thursday with a demand to re erect the humps in this area. Later after discussion with police and highway authorities officials the locals dispersed from the spot and opened the road for traffic.
