Bailancho Ekvott has said that the fate of the FIR lodged against the author of the book Sudhir Sukht and its publisher will be decided by the court.

Advocate  Radharao Gracias, however, says the government can withdraw the case in the court once the charge sheet has been filed.

The book of poems by   Vishnu Wagh has stirred a controversy. The book was considered for the award but the information was prematurely leaked by one of the panel members.

BJP vice-president Anil Hoble has giv4en a clean chit to the book. Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has also washed his hands off the case stating that the FIR against Wagh and publisher Hema Naik was lodged with the police and that he had no role to play in it.

The FIR was based on a complaint filed by women’s activist Auda Viegas for allegedly outraging the modesty of women through the poems.
