Dead monkey on a tree creates scare in Cuncolim

People made frantic calls to the health and forest departments.

The officials were not very prompt in arriving but finally forest officials came and took the carcass away for post-mortem examination.

A large number of locals had gathered at the location waiting for the health or forest officials to come and take the carcass from the tree.

Some women were concerned about their children. The dead monkey conjured images of Kyasanur forest disease.
