Railways in Goa on fast track to modernization

The South West Railways’ work on doubling of tracks from Vasco to Collem has started. Many other parts of the proposed doubling from Vasco to Londa are held up because of the land acquisition process.



But General Manager A K Gupta says that land acquisition process is on and works will continue.

Gupta says the electrification of the tracks will be carried out. He also assured that passenger services and speed of trains will improve once the doubling of tracks is done. He said that now on stress will be laid on passenger traffic because as presently freight is being run on 70
