Residents of Birla Zuarinagar in Sancoale village have expressed serious concern over the alleged release of ammonia by a fertilizer factory located at Birla Zuarinagar.

They have requested the Goa State Pollution Control  Board to please take action and criticized all the high ranking authorities that pass by and do not take cognizance of the smoke.

The residents said that due to release of the gas they are suffering from cough.

They allege that the factories in the area release the gas and pollutants during night time.

The port town of Vasco was recently in the news for coal pollution too.
