Fisheries Director Sharmila Monteiro issued show cause-notice over RFID issue

The Fisheries Department has come under the scanner after the show cause notice issued to Director Sharmila Monteiro over the issue of Radio Frequency Identification cards or RFID as they are commonly known.

Now Fisheries Minister Vinod Palyekar says that there are various other illegalities in the running of the department and he would order inquiries into those.

He told Goa 365 that he had asked for the files on various issues and he would conduct inquiries on various aspects of the Fisheries Department based on those reports.

The minister also said that after MLAs Churchill Alemao and Francisco Silveira brought the RFID issue in the assembly he had ordered an inquiry.

And based on that a showcause notice returnable within 24 hours was issued to Fisheries Director  Sharmila Monteiro.
