Computer dealers in Goa say the online sale of computers together with government’s Cyberage Scheme have ruined their business.

They particularly singled out the cartel that supplies laptops to students under the Cyberage Scheme.

They compared the cartel to the mafia operating in some north Indian states.

Computer Dealers Forum of Goa addressed media in Panaji on Friday. The computer dealers say all their pleas with the state government have fallen on deaf ears.

They allege that they have been left out of laptop supplying  business entirely.

Mandar said the laptops supplied to twelve standard students are of no practical value. He says they  are handed over more for the benefit of the supplying cartel.

The computer dealers cited one example of the stranglehold of the cartel that supplies laptops  to the government. They  compared it to the mafia operating  in states of Bihar and Jarkhand.
