Dead tiger in Sattari raises eyebrows among environmentalists

The death of a 4 year old tiger at Guleli in Mhadei wildlife sanctuary has raised eyebrows among environmentalists. On, Sunday the forest department had found a carcass of a male tiger in Guleli. Forest department says that the reason behind the death has not been ascertained as the autopsy is still on.



However, environmentalist Rajendra Kerkar says human-animal conflict may be cause of death and accuses the government of having failed to act on it.


Deputy Conservator of Forest Vikas Desai said they were informed about the dead tiger by the villagers.


Forest officials then went to the site and recovered the body.


Environmentalist Rajendra Kerkar says that 4 tiger were seen in the area and people had been complaining about their missing domestic animals.
