Balli Train accident: Falling Tree takes one life

A huge tree crashed down on a konkan railway train killing one person and injuring another 2 as Cyclonic winds accompanied by thunder and lightning hit Balli Cuncoli recently.
The tree blocked the train tracks as well as the road before it was cleared by joint efforts of the fire brigade, police and locals. Watch these visuals.
Locals say that the konkan railway authorities have to keep the area close to the tracks clear of any trees. They say that they have spoken to the authorities about this. But this was not done leading to this tragedy.
A house in Panzarconi, Cuncolim too was damaged as a pole fell on a house due to the strong winds.
