Once again the taxi issue is in the news. On Monday Ponda's Maruti Taxi Association said that they would approach the court on access fees charged for taxis at the airport. They also want to be taken into confidence when the government decides on the tariffs.

They want the government to immediately scrap the pick up and access fees for taxis at the Dabolim Airport.

The association's Krishna Naik alleged that as soon as taxis enter the airport to pick up passengers, 50 rupees are charged.

He also alleged that there were taxis driven by people from outside the state who were undercutting them.
