Quelossim Panchayat resolves to oppose traffic diversion through internal roads

During the gram sabha held on Sunday, the panchayat resolved to oppose the diversion of Traffic through internal roads of village as proposed by the government to shorten the diversion from Margao to Panjim.

The PWD has decided to close highway stretch from Cortlim junction to Sharayu toyota in Verna.

In order to reduce 14 km long detour PWD had planned to build a parallel road.

The vehicles coming from Margao would use parallel road and vehicles from Panaji would go via internal roads of Quelossim.

According to the villagers the internal roads of Quelossim are narrow.

And the two culverts in the area weak and won't be able to handle the flow of traffic.

The copy of resolution will be forwarded to the PWD and other concern authorities.
