Govt now decides to expedite covid management after cases go haywire

State government is now expediting covid management in the State after battling for the last 6 months and cases spikes. On Wednesday the cabinet decided that covid related purchases worth 12 crore rupees would be made. Also, few more wards in GMC will be turned into covid wards and additional staff appointed on a contract basis.



Beds in GMC to treat covid-19 patients are full there is no solution to, none other than our Health Minister Vishwajeet Rane had admitted it on Tuesday. However, the Chief Minister after the cabinet meeting said another few more wards in GMC will be used to treat covid-19 patients. CM also admitted that there is a shortage of staff in GMC and these vacancies would be now filled. New staff will also be appointed in newly turned covid hospital South Goa District Hospital.


EXPEDITING COVID MANAGEMENT


*Ex facto approval for DHS for covid expenses in covid care centres


*Appointment of 6 nurses,  4 attendants in S Goa district hospital


*90 nurses, 50 assistants, 6 bio-medical experts, 5 CDC staff, 10 junior technicians & 85 MTS in GMC.


Another issue that was cleared by the cabinet. In a bis to solve the issue of sugarcane farmers, the Sanjivanee sugar factory has now been bought under the ambit of Agriculture Department. The Cooperative Department will no longer look after the factory,  Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said.




Government will also conduct Svyampurna Goa program under Atmanirbahar Bharat in which government officials will go in villages to motivate people to be self-sustainable instead of relying on other states. Officers are trained and a vision document  is prepared, said CM Pramod Sawant. ,Also the government will set targets to complete central projects within the yearthe  on occasion of the upcoming 60th  Goa Liberation Day.

*Govt to bid for Medical Device Park, a central government project, in Goa

*Only 4 states to be selected and nomination consultant appointed to prepare project report

*It will the able state to manufacture medical equipment through IDC
