Govt intends to phase out petrol, diesel vehicles over 10-15 yrs: Nilesh

Government intention is to phase out petrol and diesel vehicles over period of 10-15 years and come out with new cleaner fuels, Power Minister Niles Cabral said. The government would tie up with petroleum companies to set up charging infrastructure in Goa and the state is giving lowest tarrif in entire country for charging stations, Cabral said.



Cabral was speaking after inauguration of compressed natural gas pump at Sancaole set up by Indian Oil, Adani Gas and HPCL. Direct pipeline of CNG are connected to these pumps.

Cabral said slow charging stations are already in place across Goa. Now, the chargers will will upgraded to fast charging station. Will try to that every petrol pump has a fast charging station for electric vehicles, he said.
