CM urged to form State Com to clean up all rivers of Goa

Speaker Pramod Sawant has urged Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar to appoint State Level Committee to clean Goan rivers which are used for drinking purpose.



The demand came forward during the third meeting of Valvanti Bachao Abhiyan held at Ravindra Bhavan in Sankhali on Tuesday.


Awareness drive is being carried out in Sattari against the pollution taking place in Valvanti river.


In order to take stock of the situation of Valvanti river, a high level meeting was convened at Ravindra Bhavan in Sankhli.


Representatives of Keri, Morle and Poriem panchayats along with officials of concerned departments were present.


Former chief minister Pratapsingh Rane was also present at the meeting and gave necessary guidelines.
