Candidate has to publish criminal cases he/she faces in media

The Election Commission of India is making it difficult for corrupt politicians to content elections.



It has introduced new mandatory requirements for candidates.


A candidate not only has to reveal about the criminal cases but has to publish them in the media.


A candidate should give details of Income Tax returns filed over the past five years.


The candidate should also reveal whether he or she has any investment holdings abroad.


Another new requirements that has come into force is whether the candidate has any court cases against him or her and whether he or she has been convicted in any of these cases.


The candidate has also to inform his party about such cases.


These details were given by the Association of Democratic Rights coordinator Bhaskar Assoldekar in Panaji on Thursday.


Coordinator Manguirish Pai Raikar was also present .
