The locals then marched to the Colva police station and filed a complaint against the builder.
The builder was summoned to the police station and he agreed to leave some space for the chapel.
Locals say there is an open space infront of their Chapel in Benaulim where they gather for Sunday mass. A complex is coming up just close to the chapel.
They had earlier requested the builder to leave the open space of the chapel so they could attend the mass.
The builder had agreed. But later the builder built a compound wall in the chapel space.
This angered locals who then marched to Colva police station to file a complaint against the builder.
They were accompanied by former Nuvem MLA Mikky Pacheco. In order to hear both sides, Colva police sent notices to both parties.
Builder agreed to remove the compound and free up the area for locals to carry out mass.
Former Nuvem MLA Mikky Pacheco said if a builder goes ahead building a compound wall in chapel open space and police don't act against him then he will take the matter in his own hand.
