12 dead in traffic accidents in Aug, 144 accidents till date

Goa saw 144 accidents till August this year. Out of which 44 took place in North Goa and 100 in South. 12 were fatal accident. While, 452 persons were fined for violating traffic rules, the Transport Department said on Thursday.

Data by Directorate of Transport said there were 10 fatal accident out of which one in north and 9 were in south.

8 serious accidents happened out of which 6 were in north and 2 in south. There were 68 minor incidents, 21 in south and 37 in north.

• Among dead, 5 riders, 1 pillion, 1 driver, 1 pedestrian, 1 cyclist, 3 otrs

• 13 seriously injured, 2 in N, 11 in S

• 17 minor injuries, 1 in N, 16 in S
