Goa fish is safe.

This is what FSSAI’s Dr Bhaskar told media after a day of sampling by CIFT scientists Dr Lali, FDA personnel and Health Minister Vishwajit Rane himself.

However, Dr Baskar admitted that the word permissible limit was not valid and not correct.

The government in a bid to ease the disquiet in the Goan populace about fish, the Health Minister said brought down scientists from FSSAI and CIFT to conduct the sampling.

Vishwajit promised that the random samplings would continue and they would ensure that fish that was sold in the market was safe.

Dr Lali conducted a demonstration on how the CIFT kit works.

The minister promised that the inquiry into how the word ‘permissible limits’ entered into the FDA report would be expedited and action taken against the guilty parties

The Congress Party submitted a memorandum to the fisheries minister on the formalin in fish issue.

However, as the Minister was not there, the memorandum was received by the director of fisheries.
