Immunize all new borns, infants to curb Rota Virus: Vishwajeet

As the monsoon sets in and in the shadow of the Nipah virus another virus', the 'Rota Virus' has been detected in the state. The Rotavirus is a diarrheal disease that is responsible for about 9% of under-five deaths globally and 10% under five deaths in India.



More than 32 lakh kids visit the hospital which includes 8, 72,000 hospitalizations and 78,000 deaths annually in India.


At a special program to create awareness about this virus in Panaji. Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said the government intended to concentrate on improving immunization of all the newborns and infants.


And also ensure that all immunization services are made available in the Government Sector.
