Aboleanche Fest held to revive Goan culture

Abolem ia a local flower available and used by Goans in their hair mainly especially during festivals. Now a Aboleanche Fest is being celebrated as a means of reviving age-old Goan socio-cultural ethos, by celebrating its music, dance, food, sports, crafts and theatre of the bygone days.



Nirmala Institute of Education in collaboration with the Directorate of Art and Culture celebrated Goa Day titled Aboleanche Fest at NIE grounds, Altinho on Saturday. Director of Nirmala Institute, Dr Rita Pais, the organiser, said the purpose of organising Aboleanche Fest is that the institute wanted the students to appreciate rich Goan culture.
