Within three days, Karnataka will now have a second government. In spite of all the efforts, BJP could not manage to mobilise the majority number in Karnataka.

As a result, Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa resigned before moving the trust vote. Now, JDS leader H D Kumaraswamy, along with the Congress, has staked claim to form the government. He will be sworn in on Monday morning.

It was high drama of Karnataka running with live commentaries on all the national TV channels since Saturday morning. Some Congress MLAs went missing and they also reappeared by the time 4 pm came closer.

Chief Minister Yeddyurappa stood up, made a brief statement and announced that he is resigning as the CM within three days. Congress President Rahul Gandhi called it prime minister Narendra Modi’s defeat. BJP says Congress-JDS is unholy alliance.

By Saturday late evening, JDS and Congress led by H D Kumaraswamy went to Raj Bhavan and staked claim to form the government. Governor has invited them to form the government and Kumaraswamy would be  sworn in on Monday morning.
