Goa went to polls early on Tuesday. More than 11 lakh voters were slated to cast their votes form 7 in the morning till 6 in the evening. The voting process got delayed at various places all over the state due to the glitches and errors in EVM machines. In some places, EVM machines had to be replaced delaying the start of voting.

Polling stopped at Tolebhat, Cuncolim (PS 31) as votes started jumping to another candidate. Pre-poll mock voting of 9 votes to each candidate showed results as BJP-17, Cong-9, AAP-8, Independent-1, AAP candidate Elvis Gomes said. Listen to returning officer.

Elvis Gomes says there was a demo of EVM Machines. Nine votes were given to each party. But the results were shocking. In spite of equal votes to each party during the mock voting, BJP got highest number of votes. He questioned the whole situation and said that this shows that the democracy is in great danger. Even in Quepem there were faults in EVM Machines. Opposition leader Babu Kavlekar provided information about this:

In Gaokarwaddo booth of Mayem constituency, there was a glitch in the EVM machine in the morning which made people wait for almost an hour.

EVM Machines also created issues in Ponda as well as Shirdoa. Due to this one of the candidates Subhash Shirodakar had to stand in line for an hour. Listen to what our reporter has to say:

Shivolikaars too faced the EVM trouble. By the time locals complained about it, 69 people had already exercised their votes. Later, the authorities replaced the machine. This is what Siolim locals have to say about glitches in EVM machines and the right to vote:
