Bharartiya Janata Party has become a dirty party. To remove this dirt from Goan politics, former RSS Goa chief Subhash Velingkar should enter active politics.

This is a demand made by some former BJP leaders and activists. Before Assembly election, Velingkar had led a revolt within RSS and had also formed a political party Goa Suraksha Manch to contest election.

But he was not active in the political party.

Subhash Velignkar had worked very hard to build BJP in Goa. He is considered to be political guru of chief minister Manohar Parrikar.

But today the same BJP people ask who is Velingkar.

This is the regret expressed by Ashok Naik, former Mayor of Panaji and one-time BJP leader.

He had a press conference along with few other leaders like Tukaram Arondekar, Kamlakar Mhalshi, Paresh Raikar, Elston Fernandes, Madhukar Bhosel, Azam Shaikh and other activists from different talukas. Save Democracy, Save Goa is the slogan they have given while appealing to Velingkar to join active politics.

Goa Suraksha Manch did not get large chunk of votes in the Assembly election. But their political strategy proved costly for the BJP.

They managed to defeat many BJP MLAs and brought down their number to mere 13. Now many ministers have started getting hospitalised which has resulted in political instability.

At this juncture, Subhash Velingkar was prominently seen in many places. Like the dharna against mining closure at Azad Maidan and also the function to release a book on BJP Goa President Vinay Tendulkar.

Following this was this press conference, which could bring new political trend in Goa’s politics.
