POLITICAL CONSEQUENCE FOR DIGAMBAR?

Digambar Kamat seems to be suffering the consequences of party hopping after independent candidate Ghanshyam Shirokar defeated Digambar-backed Damodar Shirokar to become the new Chairperson of Margao Municipal Council.

According to the deal previously done by Goa Forwards Vijai Sardesai and Former congress MLA Digambar Kamat, each was supposed to have their candidate as chairperson for 15 months in alternation.

However, following Digambar’s controversial defection to the BJP, political sentiment among the councilors shifted, which was evident after Ghanshyam Shirodkar supported by Goa Forward’s Vijai Sardesai defeated Digambar backed candidate Damodar Shirodkar by 15-10.
