Congress to approach President to sack Goa governor

16 Dec 2018 06:57 PM

Congress will approach the President demanding her resignation.

It accused the Governor Mridula Sinha of creating problems in the State in the absence of the Chief Minister.

GPCC president Girish Chodankar alleged that Mridula Sinha made the first mistake by not calling the single largest party to form the government.

And added that her attitude towards the State is her second mistake.

Girish feels that if governor had allowed Congress to form government than problems which are Goans are now facing would never have arisen.

Chodankar also demanded that Sinha should step down as governor on moral grounds or else they would file petition before President.

Congress said government has taken a good decision by handing over charge of Margao fish market to FDA officer Iva Fernandes.

GPCC president Girish Chodankar said that Iva Fernandes was harassed and forced to change the report of the formalin tests.

Efforts were made to suspend her.

Bowing to people and Congress demands she was given charge of wholesale fish market, he said.

Congress also targeted the government on the Ketamine drugs which were found in the warehouse belonging to BJP party workers at Valpoi, alleging that BJP office bearers are running drug rackets in Goa.

Girish accused the government of only harassing common people but keeping silent on the Ketamine issue.

Girish said that BJP leader Subhash Faldessai should take a press conference on the Ketamine issue instead of on the Rafale verdict.
