Congress slammed Health Minister Vishwajeet Rane for failing to keep his assurance to build bone marrow cancer treatment centre at GMC.

Congress spokesperson Urfan Mulla said Rane had said that he would build a bone marrow cancer treatment Centre at GMC within six months.

Due to non-availability of this facility two Goan youths died of bone marrow cancer.

Mulla said that the two Goan youth Rihan Sheikh and Saif Ali were suffering from bone marrow cancer.

As both were from poor family background they couldn’t afford treatment in Mumbai. However, both the youth succumbed to cancer, said Mulla.

He also targeted the government for not releasing official statement on the investigation of Januz Gonsalves dead body which went missing from GMC.

Congress also demanded that held up promotion of policemen.

Mulla alleged that government is filling up posts of DySPs from outside instead of promoting PIs.

As local policemen do not get promotion they have to retire as PIs or PSI.

He has demanded that 25 vacant posts of DySP be filled by promoting PI’s before December.

Failing to which Congress has threatened to approach court.
