Newly sworn in Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant took over the reins on Tuesday morning.

He will seek trust vote on Wednesday and then fly to Delhi the next day. He has set four priorities including resolving the mining issue. Dr Sawant started his day on Tuesday by paying condolence visit to the family of Manohar Parrikar at his Taleigao residence. He then sought blessings of Devi Mahalaxmi in Panaji before proceeding to the ministerial block in Porvorim to take over the office. Dr Sawant also had a free chat with the national media waiting for him at the ministerial block, besides the local media. There he spoke at length about his priorities, Lok Sabha polls as well as his plan to build Parrikar’s Samadhi at Miramar, next to Bhausaheb Bandodkar’s Samadhi.
