Cabinet clears Monsoon session from July 19

The cabinet on Monday cleared the proposal to have the monsoon assembly session from the 19th of July.



The chief minister spoke to media after the cabinet meeting that was held after a period of almost 3 months. 

President Ramnath Kovind would be visiting Goa on the 7th and 8 of July, chief minister announced.

The President is to visit the state for the Convocation ceremony of Goa University. He was supposed to visit the state earlier but had postponed his trip due to the sickness of the chief minister.  

Cabinet also cleared the release of the elderly prisoners who had served their minimum sentences.

Hawaii and Goa will become sister states soon. The cabinet on Monday cleared the proposal, the chief minister adding that the culture and even food habits of both the states are quite similar.

The chief minister said that would take up the issues of bridge completion, road works and mining and expedite them.
