The Congress party on Tuesday said that the Goa Forward party and the Bharatiya Janata Party have cracked a deal where Jack Sequeira’s statue has been traded for the post of a PDA chairmanship and four files.

AICC general secretary Girish Chodankar said that the people want to know whether Jack Sequeiras statue had been sold to the BJP for 1 chairmanship and 4 files.

He reminded the Goa Forward party that a month ago its three ministers had said that they would be willing to go to any lengths to get the statue installed.

Former congressman and present Goa Forward Leader Babush Monserrate is the chairman of newly constituted Greater Panaji Planning and Development Authority.

Girish also questioned whether there was Bahujan Samaj representative in the BJP in the PDA areas to be inducted in the committee.

On another note, a section of people from Santa Cruz wanted their village removed out of the PDA and alleged that the induction of the village and subsequent proposed development without consulting the villagers was completely against the spirit of the Constitution.
