The Assembly witnessed an uproar on Tuesday over the allegation that drugs have reached schools and colleges.

CM Pramod Sawant strongly refuted it asking Congress MLA Alex Reginald Lourenco to file a complaint. But Reginald refused and demanded police action.

The question was raised by BJP MLA Francis Silveira.

St. Andre MLA Francis Silveira had asked for more police force to nab the youth consuming drugs on hills, beaches and in the flats in his St Andre constituency.

He also wondered how these youth manage to run away when police are informed.

His one-time party colleague and Curtorim MLA Reginald intervened, charging that a table is booked in Curlies for 70,000 rupees and all kind of drugs are made available there.

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said Police has till now registered 2900 narcotic cases. He has promised to upgrade narcotics testing lab at Verna.

He has appealed people to report such incidents to ANC or Police without any fear.
