MGP president Deepak Dhavlikar had told Goa BJP In-charge Nitin Gadkari on phone that he won't contest by-poll from Shiroda. This is what BJP President Vinay Tendulkar has claimed. He is still hopeful that Deepak will withdraw.

The incident Vinay Tendulkar narrated was the recent one. When Gadkari was in Goa after Manohar Parrikar’s sad demise. According to Tendulkar, Gadkari asked PWD Minister Sudin Dhavlikar to call his brother and then he personally spoke to Deepak on phone. At this time, Deepak assured Gadkari that he won’t contest against BJP candidate Subhash Shirodkar. There is still time. The election notification would be issued this Thursday and the last date of withdrawal is 8th April. By then, will Deepak withdraw? Let’s wait and watch.
