Mining stops, pressure builds up

It’s over. No negotiation, no hectic parleys could stop to overturn Supreme Court’s order to cancel all 88 mining leases in Goa. But now there are threats of repercussion.



In a bid to keep up the pressure meetings were held in different places of the state.

And there is a call for a mass agitation of mining dependents in the Capital Panaji on March 19th, a day before union Minister Nitin Gadkari arrives in Goa.

The Chief Minister has approved the CAC’s recommendation of filing a review petition. Now all eyes of Nitin Gadkari’s visit to Goa on March 20th.
