The bandh called across the mining belt has been largely successful.

Shops were closed in Bicholim and Sankhali town. The market was also closed in both places. However, buses were plying normally on their routes. A huge motorcycle rally was kicked off at Assnora.

Mining dependents also got support from Sankhali Municipal Council Chairperson Dharmesh Saglani. The streets were deserted in Ponda and Usgao. Here too shops and other establishments remained closed. The area became busy after a motorcycle rally of Goa Mining People's front reached at Usgao from Bicholim.

The bandh was strictly observed in Sanvordem and Curchorem. The Curchorem municipal market was a ghost town. Shops were closed but some banks were in operation.

Public transport was not affected as bus services were regular. In Vasco mining stakeholders carried out a rally holding banners and placards from Vasco railway station.

Vasco is not a mining area but bandh was observed called by stakeholders.

Shops, fish and vegetable market were shut. Stakeholders said cargo handling in MPT.
