Mines dept lock-up case: Claude seeks anticipatory bail

Goa Foundations Claude Alvares and Rahul Basu have filed for an anticipatory bail. Both are accused of damaging government property.



On May 13th,  Claude Alvares & his associates had symbolically locked the directorate of mines over the government’s inability to resume sustainable mining through a corporation.

A month after the incident, police are seeking custodial interrogation of both.

The Panaji police had registered an FIR against Goa Foundation director Claude Alvares and his associate Rahul Basu for locking Directorate of Mines and Geology thereby allegedly damaging government property.
