SGPDA decides to auction market SOPO

Slowly there are efforts made to get back to business after months of close downs and amidst an unprecedented economic downturn.
On Wednesday, the SGPDA has decided to auction SOPO in SGPDA market.
However, the date for the auction has not been finalised. Also a private company will be roped in to collect and treat garbage from SGPDA and retail market in Margao, said SGPDA Chairman Wilfred D'Sa.
Few months ago its was directed to incur SOPO tax. However, many vendors filed complaints against it. The reason why SGPDA has decided to auction SOPO.
A private firm has given a proposal to SGPDA to collect and treat garbage from the market. A decision will be taken in the regards.
