Goa dependence on its neighbours for goods and services as well as for work opportunities is a well known fact. The present dispensation is making effort to turn things around through its ‘Swampurna Goa’ mission. As a part of the effort the Chief Minister, Dr Pramod Sawant has launched, Sarkaar tumchi daari, a drive which aims to take government services to each and every person in the state.

This programme was previously launched in 2016 under former BJP chief minister, Laxmikant Parsekar, says Sawant. The government hopes to make its services more accessible and easy to understand for everyone, he said.

Sawant says that there are special programmes for youth as well, which would, among other benefits, enable them to secure a job. The launch had been delayed to adverse climate and COVID, he said. .

Hitting back at those claiming that the BJP had not done any work for the people, Sawant said that even a superficial check would reveal that most of these people would not be able to take credit for any scheme that could benefit the people.
