Pilgrimage tour scheme to be executed once 1000 people apply: CM

The Government pilgrimage scheme ‘Chief Minister Devdarshan Yatra’ will commence as soon as sufficient number of people apply, said Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant. The scheme is set but the number of beneficiaries must reach 1000 before trains can be booked for the same, Chief Minister said.



The Chief Minister was speaking after convening the cabinet meeting on Thursday. He was questioned on the status of the government’s pilgrimage scheme. Chief Minister said the scheme is ready and functional with all approvals. At present, 350 persons have filled out the application form, which is available at the deputy collector’s office and social welfare department. Once 1000 people enroll special trains will leave for Shirdi and Vailankani.

Former DGP of Goa I D Shukla has been appointed as a member of the State Police Complaint Authority. I D Shukla retired as IPS while holding charge of DGP in Goa.

The government is presently monitoring rising covid-19 cases but people should take precautionary measures, Chief Minister said. He had convened an expert committee meeting on rising covid cases.
