This was announced by Shivsena MP Sanjay Raut, who is also in-charge of Goa, in the presence of Goa Forward leader Vijai Sardesai and his two colleagues Jayesh Salgaonkar and Vinod Palayekar. They had gone to attend the swearing in ceremony of Maha Vikas Aghadi led by chief minister Udhav Thackeray. Both of them addressed media in Maharashtra, which was covered by Marathi TV channels.
While talking to the media in Mumbai, Vijai Sardesai went a step ahead. He said they are trying to extend Maharashtra’s Maha Vikas Aghadi in Goa. He is in touch with them as well as some MLAs from the ruling BJP.
Maharashtra front comprises of Shivsena, Nationalist Congress Party and Congress. In Goa, Shivsena has no MLAs, Congress has only 5 MLAs, Goa Forward 3 and MGP 1, NCP besides 3 independents. Rest 27 are in the BJP with absolute majority. No government can be formed unless 18 MLAs split from the ruling BJP, which is two third. Even if all 3 independents go with the new front.
