8 OUT OF 9 GRANTED BAIL IN LAND SCAM

informed SP Crime Nidhin Valsan. Valsan is heading the SIT.  Of the 35 cases, 28 have been transferred from other divisions and 7 have been registered by the crime branch.

SIT has arrested 9 people including a lady in these land grabbing cases so far. Except for the lady who has been arrested 2 days back, all the other accused are out on bail.

Most lands targeted are those with no owners or where the owners stay abroad. Land owners staying abroad to urged to recheck their land records for possession-related issues and file a complaint with SIT if there are any discrepancies.

One case of govt land grabbing has also come before SIT. Sanguem Mamlatdar has asked SIT to register FIR in sale of 73 properties that have been notified as govt lands.
