Truck hits transformer, Navelim in dark

The truck hit the poles which supported the transformer while reversing at Navelim junction. However, there were no causalities took place.

The incident took place at 1.30 early on Monday.

The Navelim junction is a busy junction and major tragedy was averted. Power Minister Nilesh Cabral visited the site and took stock of the situation. The power supply was later restored.

There are plans to shift this transformer behind to avoid any further mishap taking place. Power Minister Nilesh Cabral's spoke to reporters on the sidelines of his visit to the transformer accident site.

Cabral spoke on review meetings being held saying these are for monsoon preparations.
