Taxis registration hit in Vasco RTO due to new insurance norms

Taxi operators say that registration by RTO had been stopped around two weeks ago as three years of third party insurance has become a must prior to registration as per new notification.
However, taxi operators say that when they approached the insurance company, they were told that they don't have any such notification that has been received.
Taxi operators also said that registration had begun in Margao and other places, but not in Vasco and demanded that directions be issued so that taxis can be registered.
