The tribals of Marle-Trival in Canacona sanctuary announced their protest of boycotting Lok Sabha election and election commission officials rushed to the forest.

They pleaded with them to withdraw their boycott, press NOTA if no candidate is found suitable, but to exercise their franchise.

The local MLA and candidates also rushed to meet the tribals. Watch this Goa365 Impact story.

Marle-Tirval is part of Paingin panchayat, but falls in Khotigao wild life sanctuary. The tribals are being deprived of basic facilities because Forest Dept objects to every project.

As a result, they have a mud road, a small bridge which may collapse any time and frequently disrupted overhead power line passing through dense forest.

This prompted around 250 voters of Marle and Trival to announce that they would boycott elections, which was telecast by Goa 365. Watching this, Canacona Returning Officer and Panaji-based Chief Electoral Officer rushed to the tribals.
