MMC refuses to issue licence for wholesale fish traders

The Food and Drugs Administration has asked the fish traders to obtain trade licenses from the Margao Municipal Council, But the council has declined saying that this is beyond its jurisdiction.

The Margao Wholesale Fish Traders Association had applied for a trade license.

But the Margao Municipal Council has expressed its inability to issue such a license to an umbrella organization.

Hence the fish traders have asked for a letter from the council putting down its reason or more specifically its inability to issue the license.
