Gakuved demands shelter for Old Goa family

Tribal federation Gakuved has demanded that the family in Old Goa whose house has been demolished should be given a shelter.



The organisation has alleged that the constitutional bodies that has been set up to protect the tribal people have failed in their duties.

Gakuved President Hari Adkonkar said despite the victim family appealing for help they have been despised.

He said nobody tried to help them despite there being one pregnant woman in the family.

He pointed out that there is Tribal Welfare Department , National Commission for Scheduled Tribes, etc to protect the tribal rights but nobody came to the family’s rescue.. 

Lallesh Parvatkar , whose is part of the family residing the demolished housed said the demolition squad was not ready to give them even a day to shift their luggage.
