The farmers of Dhavli have urged the government to revive their water harvesting ponds in order to irrigate their plantations in summer.

The ponds dug up on a slope is not storing rain water anymore due to lack of maintenance.

As a result the farmers face hardships as they are unable to irrigate their plantations.

There are huge plantations on the slope at Varchawada in Dhavli.

Their ancestors had made around 10 small ponds to store rainwater.

This water came handy during summer season. Around 20 farmers rely upon the pond water during the summer.

But these ponds are now silted and cracks have developed on its sides.

As a result, they cannot store water. Plantations go dry from March.
