Confusion over cheque distribution in Mayem

Mayem farmers and deputy collector came face to face during the distribution of cheques to mining dependents of Chougle mining company. After the prorgam was over, the NGO from Mayem fighting for farmers rights gheroed deputy collector questioning why there were not taken into confidence. This led to an exchange of words between the NGO and local panch member.

144 farmers were distributed cheques during the function held in Mayem panchayat hall. On this ocassion, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, Mayem MLA Pravin Zantye, Sarpanch Tulshidas Chodankar and deputy collector Pradeep Vaigankar were present.
