A company that manufactures STEMI machines similar to the ones the Department of Health Services has finalised for its STEMI programme has alleged that there are irregularities while choosing the supplier.

The company also alleges that the machines selected are not of the right calibre. Goa-based Kallows Engineering says it has been ignored.

Managing Director of Kallows  Engineering Gajanan Nagarsekar  said at first glance one can come to the conclusion that the  technical specifications are at fault.

Gajanan says his   company  has supplied 750 plus ECG  machines in india and  won numerous awards from the  Union Government.

He says Tricog Health Services Private limited was awarded the contract to supply about 12 machines without participating in the tender process.

He said they had a superior technology and their offer was cost effective but despite all this they have been ignored.

Health Minister Vishwajit Rane recently launched STEMI Goa project at Goa Medical College and Hospital.
