Cansaulim locals stop the inspection of double-tracking of the railway tracks

The opposition to the doubling of the south-western railway tracks is increasing day by day. Locals from the area vehemently objected to the inspection of rail tracks by railway officials alleging that villagers were not taken into confidence. They stopped the inspection and sent them back.

Local MLA Alina Saldanha said that it was unacceptable that they gave her such short notice. Social activist Olencio Simoes wanted to know for whose benefit the second track is being constructed.

The locals do not have any benefit from it. Instead, the will face losses, he said.
