Borim bridge may crash, fear locals, threaten Rasta Roko

Locals and commuters fear to use the Borim bridge now. They feel it maycome down crashing any time. It is shaking at the joints of spans right in the middle of the bridge. Hence locals led by Borim sarpanch have threatened to stage a rasta roko if the bridge is not repaired within a week.

Heavy traffic has increased immensely on Borim bridge after Anmod Ghat is closed and Chorla Ghat is also restricted. No heavy traffic is allowed on Zuari bridge. On Monday, Borim Panchayat Sarpanch Bhavna Naik along with panchayat members and locals inspected the Borim bridge. She said the bridge is shaking at joints of spans The Panchayat has given eight days deadline to conduct the repair work by closing the bridge . Sarpanch Bhavna Naik and Panchmember Sunil Sawkar warned that if no repairs are conducted then Borim locals will stage Rasta Roko.
