They claim that Goa State Pollution Control Board has allowed coal handling on trial basis at Mooring Dolphin facility, but no environmental clearance is given.

Sherwyn Correia has filed PIL against coal handling activity in Vasco.

He lashed out at the Goa State Pollution Control Board saying board considered Vascokars as a laboratory for rats while conducting coal handling trials in the open.

According to him, such trials are held in a controlled environment or laboratory.

Custodio DSouza, Convenor of Goa Against Coal has said that the board could not handle pollution on the berths and is now allowing coal handling in the sea in mooring dolphins.

GRE president Olencio Simoes has threatened to protest if the permission is not withdrawn.
